With the holiday season wrapping up and 2018 coming to an end, we wanted to give you an update on what the Andyman team has been up to over the past few months.
Operation Christmas Child
Each October the Andyman Team gets into the holiday spirit early by participating in the Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child program. If you have never heard of Operation Christmas Child, it is a program that delivers shoe boxes filled with gifts, such as toys, school supplies, toothbrushes and clothing to children around the world.
You might be thinking, “October, that’s a little early to send Christmas presents”, however, Samaritan’s Purse needs to receive the shoe boxes during the first part of November to insure they have time to get them to the children in need though out the world. Putting together the boxes, and knowing that we are helping to bring smiles and happiness to children at Christmas time, is a very joyous experience for our Andyman Team.
If you would like to send your own shoe box next year, or find out details about the other programs Samaritan’s Purse has, visit their website www.samaritanspurse.org.
The Charlotte Rescue Mission
Throughout the year, the team at Andy Lewis supports The Charlotte Rescue Mission through different activities such as their golf tournament in September. In November, our employees joined together to prepare and serve dinner to those in Charlotte Rescue Mission’s Rebound Program. This program is designed to help individuals struggling with addiction and homelessness become productive citizens in the community.
Serving dinner for the Rebound program is something that many of our employees enjoy doing; it is a way for us to meet and talk with some of the people we are helping. Hearing their stories about how this program is helping them to rebuild a life for themselves, as well as how thankful they are for everyone at Charlotte Rescue Mission, is very heartwarming.

Andy Lewis’ owners, Mike and Lynn McAndrew, make time during this wonderful season to thank all of their employees and show appreciation for their hard work all year long. Six years ago, Laurel Deming, Strategic Business Manger at Andy Lewis Heating & Air, made breakfast for everyone the day before Thanksgiving; it has since become a yearly tradition that has evolved into the annual pancake verses waffle competition! This year the pancake team won by a landslide!
But that’s not all! Each December, Mike and Lynn host breakfast or lunch where they share their gratitude for each and every one of our amazing employees. It’s always great to slow down during the busy holiday season and catch up with everyone, reflect on what our growing company has accomplished and set goals for the coming year.
Belmont Christmas Parade
The annual Belmont Christmas Parade is one of the most fun community activities that the Andyman team get’s involved in. The Belmont Christmas Parade takes place the beginning of December in downtown Belmont, NC. This year marked the third year in a row that Andy Lewis has participated in this joyous event. The parade continues to grow every year, and our employees and their families look forward to interacting with the local crowd and seeing the excitement in the children’s eyes as they stroll through town handing out candy! If you missed it this year, mark your calendar to check it out next year!
