At Andy Lewis, service is an important concept to us. It’s intrinsic to who we are as a company; when we first launched, it was with the simple goal of providing a superior HVAC service to people throughout Charlotte, and always treating them the way we’d want to be treated ourselves. That same mindset extends into the work we do behind the scenes, supporting a lot of noteworthy charities and organizations that make a difference in people’s lives.
In the coming months, we plan to spotlight some of the specific organizations we support. For today, we’re going to give you a snapshot—just some quick summaries of our charitable work in Charlotte and beyond.
Our Work in the Community
Charlotte Rescue Mission
Andy Lewis supports the Charlotte Rescue Mission, a Christian recovery program that addresses drug and alcohol abstinence with licensed and certified substance abuse counselors. Charlotte Rescue Mission also provides opportunities for physical education and recreation, and nurses assist residents in dealing with any health issues they may have. The Andy Lewis team visits Charlotte Rescue Mission once each month to serve a meal, and we also make an annual donation; we even participated in their annual golf tournament last year. We’re deeply encouraged by the good work this organization does in helping those in need get back on their feet and find their second chance.
The Shelter of Gaston County
We are also honored to support The Shelter of Gaston County, which aims to empower victims of domestic violence by providing them with emergency shelter, advocacy, and support on their way to an abuse-free life; and to lead the community in raising awareness of domestic violence and its devastating consequences. For 34 years, The Shelter of Gaston County has provided the only designated Battered Women’s Shelter to the citizens of our community who are being abused by their intimate partners. This is an invaluable resource for women, and Andy Lewis supports their work through annual donations.
Additional Service in the Community
While we try to support a wide assortment of worthy organizations, children are especially close to our heart, and Andy Lewis is proud to work with a number of non-profits that make life better for kids in need.
- We have partnered with St. Jude Children’s Hospital for various fundraising and awareness-raising campaigns.
- Every year with Samaritans Purse, we participate in Operation Christmas Child, assembling boxes for kids who might otherwise get nothing for the holiday season.
- We have worked with Second Harvest Food Bank, not only helping with a fundraiser but also providing our clients with special discounts in exchange for donations.
- We contribute to World Vision, supporting their cause to supply clean water to children and families around the world.
- Partnering with Special Olympics North Carolina, we support their mission to provide training and competition of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities.
One final note about our community involvement: We love finding opportunities to put our HVAC skills to work on behalf of the less fortunate, and one of the coolest ways in which we’ve been able to give back was installing heating and cooling systems for Habitat for Humanity homes here in the Charlotte area.
Giving Back—The Andyman Way
We want to do our part and to make a difference in our own backyard—and to that end, we do a lot of due diligence before deciding to support a particular charity, ensuring that our dollars are going somewhere they’ll really be put to use.
We’re grateful for the customers who’ve helped us succeed, and we thank you all for enabling us to do this great work in Charlotte and around the world.
